Despite an icy wind blowing through Camberley’s Meadows shopping centre, Friary’s Christmas carolling session raised more than £1135 from warm-hearted shoppers. Split equally between Macmillan Cancer Relief and band funds, the amount is more than the combined total of the previous two years’ collections.
Friary Chairman David Wicks was delighted: ‘In these challenging economic times, the public’s generosity was incredibly humbling. And with two of our players currently receiving treatment for cancer, the amount raised for Macmillan was particularly satisfying. Many thanks to all those who kindly donated’ he added
